“What Tall Daisies” Spring Fling Taster

As particapant in this years Spring Fling I have created a peice of art work for the up and coming Taster Exhibition! Starting at Gracefield Dumfries Fri 29 – Sun 31 March 2013
Opening hours:
10am – 5pm Sun 10am – 4pm

This exhibition will be touring Dumfries and Galloway until the end of the month. This exhibition will be a glimpses of the creativity bubbling up for Spring Fling in May.

I have produced a example of the artwork I will be exhibiting called “Daisy” This is an Hand Silk Screen Print 60 x 60cm  with multi coloured galloway skies and wilded florals – all contextualised by a classic Kirkcudbright Townscape. This piece of work is playful with scale and growth which I believe reflects the freedom in our landscape. ❤

Woodcutters Trees and Ginger meets Valentino

Red Valentines beautiful Grimms Fairytale Hansel and Gretel A/W 2013 has to be my favourite collection this year. It is folksy stylish warm with delicious velvets, rich reds, and classical florals. With delicate Victorian embroidery and ribbons, the styling is so gentle and has a classic porcelain red lip doll. If this is a sign of things to come winter is going to be magical.

Magic Paint, Glitter and Eternal Style

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ~Coco Chanel

After spending all week listening to Christmas music I am completely amazed by the iconic style of some of the forgotten legends in fashion.

Roy Wood, Lead Singer of Wizzard, is the complete god of paint glam and style. I adore his sequins and giant hair! I love the fantasy of his style which I think will never be bad taste only regarded as style of that time. Wizzard’s classic video of I wish it could be Christmas everyday not only gets you in the Christmas spirit but give a boost of glamour and classic British rock magic.

So how have we adapted this look which I think definitively still has a place in fashion.

Quoting from Vogue

“Couture meets London girl cool at Danielle Scutt. Parisian style hair pieces took centre-stage with an amazing sky-high style created by Luke Hersheson (he and his team spent 3 days making the 16 pieces that matched each model’s hair colour exactly). To set off this extreme take on a classic, make-up artist Hannah Murray, splashed on a bright pink glitter lip. Ok, so it might not be your everyday wearable look but we absolutely LOVE it.”
