Chanel Does Scotland Proud

Featured in the April issue of Vogue one of the they most astounding repesentation of Scottish Fashion by Chanel The Metiers d’Art collection in Linlithgow Palace, Scotland.

Totally Beauiftul, dark tweeds, moody tartans and the iconic Aran Knit. The layering reminds me of a Vivienne Westwood’s passion for scottish traditional craft and showcasing this to the fashion world.

Motivated by a sense of being scottish is really portrayed in this collection. You can imagine the people of Scotland in these clothes and the hertiage behind them.  This pestigous and iconic brand hosting our workmanship just shows the importance of keeping Scottish Craft Alive.

“[Coco] Chanel discovered knitwear here, she discovered tweed here. She came to Scotland with her lover the Duke of Westminster. Mary Stuart’s mother was French, her father was Scottish. She went to live in France and then came back as Queen of Scotland. So, there are many connections and I like that.”
